Pope Gives Patriarch Alexis Book of His Speeches from Ukraine

Pope John Paul II has given a two volume collection of the sermons and speeches he delivered during his June 2001 visit to Ukraine to Russian Orthodox Patriarch Alexis II.

   Joaquin Navarro-Vals, director of the Vatican Press Service, said that this is the Pope’s latest intiative to make a gesture of friendship towards the Moscow Patriarchate.The gift should arrive in Moscow in the near future.
