About us
The news of the Pope's visit to Ukraine was enthusiastically received by many
throughout Ukraine and especially by many associated with the Lviv
Theological Academy, a higher educational institution of the Ukrainian
Greek Catholic Church.
Fr. Ken Nowakowski and Natalia Klymovska of the Press Service
of the Catholic Church in Ukraine didn't have to go far to round up likely suspects
to put together the official "Papal Visit to Ukraine" website.
Looking for an English-language editor, they found Matthew Matuszak,
a native of Chicago, who teaches Latin and English at the Academy and also works
as a translator. Frank Lyon, the Academy's resident English and Spanish
citizen, was enlisted to help with researching various materials. Lviv's own
Oleh Kuzio was recruited to be the web-master.
The staff of the Academy helps us by preparing various materials in Ukrainian.
And TRC, a computer
firm based in western Ukraine, designed, programmed and hosts the site.
If you think this sounds like a lot of work, YOU'RE RIGHT! Though the staff
spends many extra hours away from their wives and families, we still can't seem
to get everything done as quickly as we would like.
With God's help and patience from our visitors, we will greet the Pope and
the rest of our guests in the best Ukrainian tradition. And then we hope to
maintain the excellence which our public has come to expect from us.
